What is Lily & Vine?

"I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing." ~John 15:5

Though I am nowhere near perfect, I strive to seek the Lord daily. Recently, through many hardships and trials, I have learned that real life is messy. It is full of imperfections, challenges, and a seemingly endless search for happiness and true fulfillment. Leaning on our King and learning to "give thanks in all circumstances..." (1 Thessalonians 5:18) I have learned the only true way to real fulfillment in our time on Earth is to seek the Lord and find the beauty He created in every situation. To lean on Him for support and encouragement and to become the branch that spreads His everlasting love throughout the world to the rest of His people.

Lilies are often used as a symbol of peace, renewal, devotion, happiness, and humility. The specific lily shown in my brand is the Lily of the Valley - symbolizing specifically the "return to happiness." Leaning on the Lord throughout hard times in life has brought me a renewed strength and the ability to find joy in all circumstances!

Lily & Vine Photo Co. desires to capture all of these real, messy moments as well as the most happy and joyful times in your life!  If you have any questions for me about why I chose "Lily & Vine" or would like to hear more about my story, please feel free to reach out to me!

What Lily & Vine is All About

This new season of being engaged to your love is oh so sweet! It is so exciting to be planning the wedding of your dreams with your forever sweetheart! As a recently married lady myself, I can tell you this season of life also comes with its own unique set of challenges. As you and your love face the huge challenge of planning a wedding and all of the difficult decision-making, budgeting, tears, and meetings that encompass this time in your life, I want you to know that I completely understand how overwhelming all of this can be! I want you to take a deep breath (yes, right now!) and repeat this out loud "I am marrying the love of my life and that is the only thing that matters in the grand scheme of things."

There. You said it. Now you're relaxed and ready to tackle the next thing on your list. While you are searching for every detail in your wedding to reflect who the two of you are as a couple, let me explain why I value photography so much when it comes to weddings and why finding the right photographer for you is so important.

You should find a photographer who gets you. Someone who understands what you want and works well with you! Someone who will not only be your photographer, but also your friend. It's a whole lot more fun to be friends with the person following you around all day on one of the most important days of your life!

Some things I learned while going through this process myself are:

-All of the food was eaten.

-All of the candles burnt out, flowers wilted, and friends and family went back to their hotels.

-The venue setup was torn down the next day.

-The bustle on my dress snapped while dancing too hard (HELLOOOOO electric slide!) and the bottom edges became a dingy brown.

All of those things that you worked so hard to plan out for the perfect day will be gone in the blink of an eye, leaving you with only a few things left.

1. YOUR SPOUSE! Your dearly beloved that you promised your life!

2. Your memories! Your sweet, sweet memories that will eventually fade with age.

3. Your pictures! Your pictures will allow you to refresh those fading memories and relive every detail of this day! From the time your daddy saw you in your dress for the first time, to the moment you say "I do!", and to the celebration at the end while you dance the night away with your closest friends and family.

Choosing to allow more of my budget to accommodate having the photographer I wanted was something I will never regret. Having those memories printed and hanging on my walls takes me back to that sweet day in the most precious and special way! If I had to give you one piece of advice for planning your wedding, I would say to take a look at your budget. Figure out what is the most important to you and make that a priority! Everything else you plan for your day will fall right into place as it should.
